  1. This video is a hoot! People is CrAzY! One of the strangest customers I had when I worked as an avionics tech at a small airport was the guy who carried in a transponder (a device that responds to the radar with flight codes and altitude). He said he was just flying along and it quit. Not unusual with that model. I check it out ad find a transistor missing - simply not there. Here's another one that is put in wrong - and another one. All told nine transistors were defective, the wrong type altogether, missing, or put in wrong. Maybe it failed in flight but it was diddled with after that!

  2. Starters and alternators are the "poster children" for rebuilt horror stories. I would pay four times as much if necessary to avoid an auto parts store rebuilt.

  4. If it had a nail in the shoulder it is unrepairable. I don't know exactly why but I suspect the two-dimensional curve and the flexing while rolling has something to do with it.

Of every 100 people in the US about 4 have bipolar disorder (3 of them severely), 4 have paranoid personality disorder, 1 is schizophrenic (my mother was one of them), and a variable number have all sorts of substance problems. Then there are all sorts of generally strange people. As AMD says most people are great, but lordy! the people who aren't are strange indeed.

  8.  @kimdavis5631  In February I helped my son rebuild the hybrid battery in his 2002 Prius around 208K miles. It was the second repair it ever needed; the first was the inverter coolant pump at 195K miles.

  11. Sadly, I suspect you are right. Anger from minor frustration is very common in dementia, especially in the early stages. (Wife did elder care as a nurse for many years.)

  13. An awful lot of those CR-Vs with the same problem. Also, when a certain switch is rotated the headlights come on. Nobody seems to be able to fix it.
