@nacpatil i agree with you. Btw, we shouldn't look at gdp per capita to be realistic, we need to look at ppp per capita to be close to ground reality. In that manner, we have a good chance of getting there.

But why is SC garg talking about this issue now. Even during UPA, our base was like 8-9x lower than that of USA. So how come we are only alarmed of the difference now more than before during UPA is my question? Why was SC garg so upbeat about UPA achievement?

@anuragchakraborty8766 most of those 1 billion are from Bengal. Shit infrastructure, no imdustries even after nearly 20 years of Mamata government. What the hell do Bengalis think before voting?
2
@anuragchakraborty8766 have u seen the slum situation in san francisco, CA? it is quite scary.
2
@anchitdutta3627 i know SC Garg was finance secretary in UPA govt. I can understand his biases and prejudices.

@anuragchakraborty8766 we were giving 100 of millions free employment through MNREGA, etc. during UPA time. We are giving free only to BPL and that too during pandemic. It has now been taken off. We are not like USA, who can print money in treasury and dole it out to people like they did during the pandemic.

@nacpatil we need to make sure that india's gdp growth rate in about 5-6% higher than the working population growth year over year.
1
@cheeho9698 Actually, China used to grow faster than India throughout UPA term. Only now India is consistently beating China in terms of growth rate. So, only now is there a possibility, if at all, to beat China.

@dr.abhinavsoppin6532 so, you want no famer to profit in farming. You seem to have quite a leftist memtality. Good to know that about you.
1
@mariabrar6290 give us an example of an SME, please.
1
@mariabrar6290 farm laws can free up the subsidies that we have been doling to the farmers since independence. Those subsidies have only grown with time.
1
@mariabrar6290 there is a lot of capital available. India's banking sector is stronger than ever before. India has cleared almost all of its NPA. who is stopping the SMEs from taking a loan from banks.
1
@mariabrar6290 these laws are working great in AP, Telangana, MH, etc. Don't talk like a naive person.
1
@mariabrar6290 india's food security can't keep india at ransomed. For far too long indian farmers have taken a lot of subsidy from tax payers money and not given back to the Indian revenue. There are far too many humans in farming. We can use intensive machines to replace humans that are keeping the farming sector in India quite inefficient.
1
@mariabrar6290 find some other job, i guess. We can not stretch welfare beyond a point.
1
@mariabrar6290 Rajasthan, Gujarat and Karnataka are now among a handful of States that allow free trade outside mandis, without charging any fees for the same, thus kicking off reforms in agricultural trade.
1
@mariabrar6290 what stops Mandis from being shut now? Why are you living in whataboutry?
1
@mariabrar6290 that maybe the problem in Punjab. People leave India all the time because India is a free country. Almost all of those who leave India also apply for OCI card. Also, Indian's abroad contribute to the largest forex reserve compared to any other country in the world.
1
@mariabrar6290 foreign corporate loans allow foreign companies to invest in India and create pvt. sector jobs. Same cannot be said about farming. Farming is a low-skill employment. There are already too many people in farming in India for too little outcome. It is time farmer incomes,at least that of zamindars should be taxed.
1
@mariabrar6290 yeah. I know. But a lot of Punjabis have been leaving India to Canada for a long time before farm laws were brought. Farm laws have no connection with people leaving their homes.
1
@mariabrar6290 why do you think farm laws will lead to unemployment? I don't understand this fear against farm laws. Contract farming actually creates more jobs.
