  1. WB being a non-BJP ruled state is provided 55.3% of it's money needed from center, whereas UP and MP ruled by BJP is only provided 52.1% and 53.4%, respectively. So, how does opposition say that center does not take care of the states?

But you don't understand the data, it shows that WB is asking for more money from the center than what it can generate from its revenue compared to UP and MP, even if centre pitches less money in absolute terms to WB than UP and MP. it is the percentage of the total revenue.

  16. Punjab's excessive borrowing and spending is not surprising to me. All Punjabi's I have seen do not know how to live within means. Frugality can never be a part of their vocabulary. Be it wedding to social events, etc.. Ostentation is their second nature. I am sure Guru Nanak ji did not profess any of these things in Sikhism. Sikhism is all about living with honesty, modesty, humility. Pretty antithetical this is.

  20.  @freesoul3466  BJP got rid of akali because they turned out to be an obstacle in reforms. The same reforms which would reduce deficit, in extravagant sectors of India, such as farming. More money has sunk into it than any other industry in India. Akali was profiting from that sector with no improvement in farmers lives.

Never umder UPA-I and II, India gdp growth rate exceeded that of China. Get your facts straight. Even with lower base India could not grow faster than China throughout UPA regime. So, who is the winner here in your opinion?

  35.  @sanjay59741  Yeah Nice try. Bangladesh's economy is 11 times smaller than India's, and you have guts to compare their growth with India's. Bangladesh has 11 times lower base than India. India adds 90% of Bangladesh's GDP every year, and you are saying Bangladesh's economy is better. Now you will point me to per capita of Bangladesh. By that standard Indonesia's per capita GDP was better than India throughout UPA-I and II. Per capita is a stupid metric, because with automation the contribution of people in GDP is immaterial.

Just making garments doesn't make them distinguished. Also, Bangladesh is enjoying preferential treatment in trading which will end by 2024. Real Bangladesh will be revealed after 2024.

  41.  @sanjay59741  India produces 45% of cotton in rhe world that Bangladesh imports for their garment factory. The PLI scheme in textile is going make cotton imports expensive for Bangladesh, it is going to slowly weaken their garment industry that much i can guarantee. Rest time will tell.

I want india to stay India, the democratic one with good infra developmemt, with zero terrorist incidents, with zero need to beg to US and Europe for vaccines, manufacture things that it can do all by itself, accpeting a digital world, etc. I am seeing all of that happening in the past 5-6 years.   54.  @sanjay59741  Going back and forth. I am saying that center is not obligated (constitutionally) to give the state it's CGST back. So whatever government is giving is discretionary. I am saying that center is giving WB 55% of the money WB spends, greater than it gives to UP and MP that they spend. I don't know why you are bringing devolution here. You understand that CGST is center's only. PERIOD. There is no account of how much CGST came from a state. Usually CGST/SGST ratio is fixed, so you can figure out from SGST as to how much CGST was acquired by a state. if you have proof to show that WB gives out more CGST than it gets from center to spend, I would be inclined to see that info.

  55.  @sanjay59741  correction once more. The compensation that government proposed was only to supplier state. WB is vastly a consumer state, but for a VERY VERY few things it produces that are, afterall, inconsequential to the rest. So that compensation should be a trifle. The SGST is completely given back to states. Nevertheless, centre is not trying to be miser is funding states regardless of bjp or non-bjp states. What, if any, infra development happening in WB for that money? Is everything spent on freebies for votebank?

Do they (Madarsa) teach formal education? if yes, how to separate the benefit of 10 lakh between what is learnt as part of Islamic theology and the remaining from scientific curriculum. If not, then this money could be used/siphoned to Mullah's for vote bank politics.
