What a shame? Priyanka Gandhi didn't do one thing to help UP to recover from COVID-19, but for sure she wants to seize the Belchi movement. Political tourism aside what can you do for people when they need help. Rahul Gandhi spending time in Punjab, where his state of Kerala is reeling with COVID cases and deaths. Shame on Congress, only look for political mileage.

@anantkumar7805 UPA didn't manage economy. They hid the problem in the form of non performing assets. Of course, common man doesn't need to know those dire problems. UPA was increasing deficits to give freebies and subsidies. At some point that would have failed. It did fail in terms of unimaginable NPAs, but it wasn't visible until Modi brought the insolvency and bankruptcy code. I remember my uncle paid 12% EMI in 2013 and 2014 fir his house. It was terrible. Now the EMI is only 4%. Maybe you liked paying so much on your mortgage and pretend economy was great during UPA. Also house prices have come down dramatically.

@anantkumar7805 what global financial problem? It was in 2008. So we had NPAs until 2014 because what happened in 2008. You must be high on drugs. How can demo increase NPA. In fact after demo the banks had more than enough money. Banks were recapitalized the most after demo. I agree that GST right after Demo was a bad idea. NPA happened because MMS started giving out loans just to grow the economy. But this kind of growth was unsustainable in the long run. Also, demo did a lot of good for pandemic because of demo vendors were forced to adopt digital payment mode. If demo had not happened then these vendors would have struggled in pandemic much more. Any ways you and i will not agree on economics. You like socialistic, welfare schemes that are actually scams. I like infra development, which people can use for the rest of their lives. If you give a beggar some food, he/she will eat it and come back tomorrow to beg again. That is what subsidy is exactly. It is like a drug addicition.

Also any government should not subsidize commodities that it imports. I am ok with subsidizing food grains, but how can you afford to subsidize petrol, which you import. Very very dangerous...

@anantkumar7805 that extra money has gone for building highways, bridges, and tunnels in J&K, North east, etc. The problem is where did the money during UPA time from the stupendous economic growth go. Why UPA was building roads at 11 KM/day and now it is close to 38 KM/ day. Our exports touched record in last two months. We recorded maximum digital payment in terms of transactions in the world during pandemic. Just eating things for free is not always satisfying.

Because of UPA sunsidizing petrol, we have india become one of the largest polluters in the world. You subsidize petrol then people keep using petrol more. So we burn more fossil fuels. Better MMS had invested in renewable energy so we could have emerged energy independent by now. But instead MMS took us in the wrong direction. Like i said, MMS got us hooked on the drugs of welfare and freebies. Even for a drug adddict, drugs are saviour. But we know we need to slowly wean off the drug dosage. I commend Modi for pushing for solar, electric, and lately ethanol blending. Before 2014, ethanol blending was less than 3 %. Now it is touching 12 %. Ethanol helps is reducing sugarcane dues and reduces petrol consumption. Why could MMS not put his brain in doing something futuristic than peddling drugs for addicts. Social welfare schemes is what Congress's moto is. Hamesha Baisakhiyon ko pakda dete hain. Aur discuss karenge. I like your points, but you are misinformed by media.

@anantkumar7805 The knowledge and extent of NPA was hidden until IBC came in 2016, so the exact extent of NPA came to light in 2017, and it was a slow process. More and more problem emerged. It is like buying a house from another owner. You come to know about the structural problems slowly. Add to it the time taken to fix it. So Modi needs a lot more time to fix NPA.
