@pratyaysarker537 I don't have to be in WB to make such statement. A simple observation to make is to count how many Bongs (Bengalis) are CEOs or close to that level in corporations. Why are there so many South Indians CEOs in MNCs, but almost none from Bengal. Most of Bengalis want to get a government or an academic job and wax eloquent about the state of affairs in India or any place they live. They have large brains to endlessly argue and counter-argue on a number of mundane issues, but ZERO enthusiasm or will power to make the change or create an enterprise. This mentality is endemic and ingrained into a common WB psyche. TMC has only emboldened this irrational idea, incapacitating Bengalis to create wealth.

@pratyaysarker537 HDI is a farce adopted by some section of ruling elite to bend towards redistributing poverty. Kerala has a high level of HDI as would be Bengal, but both are corrupt with one or the other scams. I judge a state by the infrastructure, roadways, electrification, water supply, etc. Everything else is another matter. I will tell you why Gujarat being one of the richest state displays low on HDI. HDI accentuates the condition of people in the poorest rung. Now the question that comes to mind is why are there poor people in Gujarat? The answer lies in how Gujarat attracts poor people for cheap labor, unlike WB or Kerala. Since more people from UP/Bihar/Orrisa, etc. flock towards Gujarat, it is quite but natural that HDI will look bad for Gujarat. Every state that attracts poor labor inherits low HDI tag. The problem in WB is that there is redistribution of poverty instead of wealth. The only way I gauge a state is the infra and nothing else. Not too long ago, we used to think WB has great schooling, but that teachers' scam blew everything up. Now WB cannot boast of good schooling either. What is WB good at anyways? It is quite bad: no investment, no development. Getting into Kolkata from IIT Kharagpur through NH 12 is a nightmare. Kolkata's infra is simply sh1t. I want to stop the verbal assault now.

@pratyaysarker537 You cannot change the past, unfortunately. As a result, you cannot harbor negative feelings for those that gain wealth instead of your ancestors. That thought should now be fading in the rear-view mirror. What you need to develop is the craze, frenzy, madness to generate wealth legally? You should try accessing help and develop skills to achieve that. Pulling someone's legs will not raise you afloat in the middle of the ocean. Quickly put that negative, regressive thought out of your mind. Vote for a party that focuses on enabling wealth generation, not the ones that promise poverty eradication. Poverty eradication is a myth. There is always someone poor.

@pratyaysarker537 I really pity you for brining Adani and Ambani here for no reasons. At least, they provide high paying jobs to those who are skilled. USA has a similar structure as in India, where there is huge wealth inequality, but people from all around the world come to that place because USA can lend people money with no limits. 98% of people in USA live in debt for their entire lives. India is striving to get there, it is improving its ability to lend people money. Remember there is a difference between Abhijeet Banerjee's idea of handing over money vs. USA's lending money to people. Currently, India cannot afford to lend money to general people, but only to industrialists who know how to run business and make profits out of it. Overtime, when India's GDP grows furthermore, we will see general public taking loan from the bank and meet their living needs. Btw, what do you think about Modi's EWS quota for poor people? You must be happy as this policy specifically serves the poor class of people.

@pratyaysarker537 but what about the existing SC/ST reseevation? Do You want socially backward classes to double dip in the nacho bowl? I like risks. Life comes with all kinds of risks. I will gladly take the odds of economic downturn from big tycoons like ADANI, AMBANI, and TATA and BIRLA. Yes TATA and BIRLA, why do you conveniently exclude them from duscussions. Is it because they are not from the state of Gujarat that Modi and Shah belong to? I like risks, as long as i enjoy taking it. We know the economic collapse that happened in 1990s that rendered us beggars to IMF, all because of socialistic policies of Nehru and later Gandhi. I'd like to pick pockets than spreading my arms for alms. That is, i love capitalism through and through. When you brought RSS into this discussion from nowhere, i realized that you are that book worm Bengali, whose arm chair knowledge of reality only contains enjoying 10 days around Durgashtami in a pujo pandal, eating khajuro chutney, rossho gulla, and chom chom, etc. I have met with your kinds in my under graduate.
