I had an old mitsubishi magna that had an auto trans fault and overdrive could not be used or it went into limp mode and the car had no power and could only be driven slowly. I found stopping the car and turning it off, and disengaging the overdrive restored functionality. I also pulled that and repaired it on the garage floor at home including drilling out a journal to increase pressure internally and it ran fine after.

I can't believe you replace parts and don't repair them. A Caliper kit would be much cheaper for the owner, and I didn't see hot spots on the rotor, so machining them would be fine too. The discoloration is from heat, but not indicative of hot spots.

@bloopyscoopy3141 no need to measure when you have experience on your side, they looked fine. p.s. It's a Micrometer.

Actually as the piston moves out it can rust and get pitted, pushing it back in causes the fluid to push through the pitted areas creating leaks.
