I might be wrong, but wasnt the original ammo a roundnose?? that is a way more stabile bullet on impact, (and penetration ) also at the range you are shooting, the bullet had not yet had time to fully stibilize,, and at that range the impact velocity is higher than t would have beeen in the original shoot,, so the original bullet would be way less damaged than the one you did fire
