  7.  @peterh7594  BBC DGs have presided over, and tried to cover, up many scandals. Anything they say needs to be seen in the context also of their continuing vested interest in the BBC. From the time I started watching the BBC, from around the same time as this former DG joined it, until the time I cancelled my TV licence, a couple of years ago, I have noticed no diversion from a path of ever increasing bias towards the left of politics. The BBC has been in breach of the impartiality obligations of its charter for decades.
