  1. The main thing this movie really missed is this: they tried to make the sex scenes sexy, and glamorous. They were supposed to be dumpy, embarrassing, shameful, and shabby. An old guy feeling guilty about pity sex from a woman he knew as a child. I can forgive the changed ending. The most part Snyder got this right because he copied the book scene-for-scene shot for shot angle for angle, like 300 and Hellboy. Most of the things are good in it are good because he had their restraint not to change them. Most of the bad are the opposite. I think the artistic decision to cut a little side scenes of 80s gang members was a good call. That stuff was forced in the books and of very dated. Not in a cool period way either.
