I'd add that they are a category that is intrinsically pleasant to use, in a common caliber, and they aren't economically feasible to keep making. So full size metal frame early 90s sig and S&W police pistols in 40 and 357 sig are currently under valued for what they are. They are finely finished fun to shoot pistols made to last. Not my first carry choice, but a very nice nightstand gun/range toy. The calibers are out of fashion. Out of fashion, but not intrinsically bad.... It's currently trendy to hate on 40 S&W, like it was trendy to hate on arisakas. When the market corrects on those exaggerated negative opinions....

But I will, because their value has tanked, and I just want a nice smooth lever gun. I don't care that it has a yodeling cowboy's name on the side.

That applies to more than just guns. I've gotten a lot of tools on ebay in lots for less than almost any item in the lot would sell for.

@Bacteriophagebs you're about 10 years late.

Jokes on you. The only way I'm likely to get a clean winchester 94 is if it has some forgotten golden age TV cowboy inlaid in goldish on it. I don't mind scratching up the "Lash Larou" commemorative art to have a nicely made lever gun.

I'd take most any as a well made rifle well maintained and cheap.
