I thought the same thing, but really when would this, be used in the c open? It is intended for raids and ambushes. In each case I am sure the agent would do his best to use cover.

johnpaulstez cost.... Clips are cheaper than magazines. They were new at stamping and spot welding. Metal wa not as consistent, and magazines were very difficult to make reliable. Most had to be have tuned and serialized to a gun. It was a question of logistics.

Theblastback there are several. Look at his interview with Jim Sullivan. He's got an improved AR15 variant with that feature.

You are welcome. I think on paper it is better, but most weapons in practice are generally one thing with the unlikely option of the other. i.e. continuous fire vs intermittent burst/aimed single shots. A shoulder fired rifle is unlikely to maintain the fire rate at which cook-off becomes a serious concern. It has happened, but that basically means one guy is firing continuously while another guy is handing him mags and switching as fast as possible. Even the time required to fish a mag from your pouch is enough to allow a barrel to cool enough to avoid that. Since this is the case, there hasn't been a lot of motive to add complexity to guns that are working fine as they are currently used.
