  2.  @ethanpetersen3840  cheaper castings. rugers lower price point back in the day. Probably availability and stainless. A pretty decent warranty. There are a lot of people who are real die-hards for Ruger as a company as sort of like the blue collar gun of choice. Tell my family was they were thought of as rugged affordable guns that you couldn't break by being dumb, which were usable as an agricultural tool. You could leave it on the deck of your boat for 20 years with no maintenance and it would be okay probably.
