I know I'm a weirdo, but I'm interested in the M14. Assault rifles are after my time, but I know what a .308 feels like and how heavy a 14 is, so watching someone else handle one actually tells me something.

Can I interest you in learning about the Cult of Matt?

They'd have to clamp the guns in a vice to get any meaningful results. You're not supposed to aim at anything with an AK, anyway.

@EnforcerOfficial - I'll enjoy it, alright.

@markthompson4885 - I've handled an M14 but not fired it and I've shot 7.62. My spoiler impression of it was that it's a heavy rifle, which can be a good thing, and the lines look like the recoil would seat it into your shoulder. My competition shooting was mostly done as a teenager in the Army Cadets with a .303 Lee-Enfield, much as my grandfather's competition shooting was mostly done as an adult veteran with the same model. It's an enjoyable rifle to shoot once you get used to the balance. I was on a four man team with two brothers who won Gold and Bronze at the Commonwealth Games shooting .303's, and a guy who got pissed off if he shot a 100 9x.on the .22 range. I was definitely fourth man.

@agustinlara2356 - By asking, you just joined. Quitting isn't quite as pleasant, but we don't need to talk about that.

@trmon8890 - Of course they have sights and can be aimed. By far their most common use is spray and pray, though. Point it in the general direction and count on luck. Accuracy at range isn't a priority with assault rifles. They're good enough for most purposes, but long range shooting takes a full-fat rifle round. Assault rifles are for assaults close in or defending against assaults close in.

@Lord_Samael_de_Monasteriis - I inherited my uncle's Enfield after years of not firing one, and I was shocked at how mild it was. I love the cock on close action and the spring-loaded release. You can flip the handle up with your thumb and it smoothly ejects and the bolt slides all the way back, or you can fan it open and closed at a hellish rate. The Enfield is Canada's sweetheart. My uncle was a pilot, and they weren't issued rifles. The stock's been cut so it will fit in a duffle bag, and some poor Brit probably got shit for losing it.

Nicely put together and to the point. Not loving the intro, though.

Anyone can report a comment. It's a petty and cheesy way to avoid defending your position.

You know how people jump to defend the AK? I'm gonna have to do that with Scooby Doo vans. They remind me of guinea pigs' faces.

People who hate guns tend to be on the left, but people who like them are everywhere.

@markthompson4885 - .3.03 and 7.62 are pretty comparable, but .30-06's have noticeably more kick. I've had a .303 come off my left shoulder and caught the handle on the cheekbone, but that was youth.

@miastory247 - You kids today with your universal angst and your horrible music.

@trmon8890 - We didn't have AKs.

@trmon8890 - We're talking about AK's, the preferred weapon of monkeys everywhere. Nothing to do with me.
