Agree not near the front line. However they would be useful in minefields. Problem is that Ukraine is artillery and missile war.

These things cannot be allowed near any armoured firepower.

Hard to believe that no counter insurgency campaigns in next few years. Can't believe that scrapping is even an option. Good for manufacturers I suppose. They could be leased out to countries that need anti mine capability. Radical would make them remote controlled weapon stations. Use them as remote controlled decoys and pathfinders. Cut them down and use as supply trucks near the front.

I think the angle allows the blast somewhere to dissipate. A flat surface traps the explosion beneath the vehicle

95% if support is kit that ha already been built in USA and stockpiled because no longer used. Almost all the money has been spent and remains in America.

They can survive multiple attacks from standard tank mines. Need to repair with new wheels and suspension.

USA is getting rid of 24000. Perfect for replacing destroyed with replacement if people are saved.

Why did the south African version cost millions and the us at version cost billions?

Impressive that once USA decided to build MRAP they produced 10000 in short order

Possible that the Russians could pull back leaving heavily mined land. Especially as defense against high speed counter attack

Made me think. They could be useful in a breakthrough situation. Covering ground with the occasional mine planted to slow offensive down.

Military correct description. A large fraction of population fighting the government or outside forces

Not a great vehicle in Ukraine but mych better than no vehicle or a basic truck.

Hopefully threat from Russia gone for a decade. If Ukraine can become a string country they will need to be less NATO spending. That is a prize. Another benefit is that deters China from starting something similar

No trillions Much cheaper than Iraq and Afghanistan Also this time you are getting a result for your money. Weaker Russian military

The big mistake was disbanding the Iraqi army. Should have keep the soldiers and replaced the generals. Army was mostly conscripts and more loyal to Iraq than Saddam. Instead you had 200000 unemployed soldiers. The one thing the Iraqi army had been successful at was combatting religious extremism
