Congress and the Republicans decided that there was no need to pass any laws to strengthen the border, nor any need to fund the strengthening of the southern US border.   10. Because there is no problem at the border. Republicans prove that in Congress, when they refused to strengthen or fund additional border protection measures. Republicans cannot say there’s a crisis at the border, and at the same time refused to do anything.
