It's entirely meant to distract audiences and spread confusion, leading people to conclude "I dunno, everyone's accusing everyone else, I don't know what to believe, guess they're all as bad as each other".

  9. Bear in mind that it's about pumping out a continuous stream of disinformation and clashing narratives, all to dump mud in the water. Russia don't expect you to believe them, but they do want you to be in a state where you can't be sure who to believe and thus believe nothing. We allowed this tactic to work when Russia blew the dam, so why wouldn't they repeat it?
