  1. Aside from a**holes, who exist everywhere, I have found Americans to be exceptionally decent and friendly during my time in the States. Skeevy dudes tried to mug my husband about 14 times in Barcelona (I have no idea why, he's a Marine so it never worked out for the muggers lol), but I don't project that onto the average Spaniard. I get that its fashionable to hate the US, especially amongst the US "elites", but zzzz, enough already. The country has structural problems and about half of the voters are dumb and do whatever they last heard on MSNBC, that is the real issue. Not the average person.

  2. The smaller the country and the less common its native tongue, the more likely the educated people will speak good English.

  3. Part of the year would be fine with me. Unless you are French its a good place for the wealthy.
