American Intel is playing down the Iran possible involvement......to try and keep the other Muslim countries out of this war.......because America knows, that it would bring a complete end to the western colonial powers, control in the Middle East.......and eventually their power in the world as a whole.....it also gives them time to get their various assets into position.
