I have noticed the waiting area in our local Toyota dealership (Colorado Springs) has a lot more folks than usual....people taking care of their cars, a good thing! I haven't, yet, noticed my dealership marking up prices over MSRP but will be the first to lodge a complaint if they do. My heart goes out to the car salesmen, too...one came up to me and asked if I was interested in looking at cars and I told him I was just here for Toyota parts and he asked if I had any used cars to sell to him...very sad.

Maybe a note on what is the safest technique Toyota recommends for swapping out a 12-volt battery but keeping 12-volts to the vehicle to keep settings? (There's many different methods out there...some of them look like they could damage electronics!)

Excellent advise! I recently saw someone selling his two year old Sienna for $4,000 more than what he paid for it new...talk about ripping someone off! (But, at least, she got an excellent vehicle.) You didn't mention car part prices also are sky-rocketing. I used to be able to do a new rotor and brake pad job for around $150 but just paid $288 for then in my daughter's 2012 Sienna. These days it's even MORE important to keep up with maintenance on our cars else we'll be in that group of poor folks needing a vehicle but having to deal in this horrible Biden economy that's only going to get worse....$5 a gallon gas will be here before we know it.

Next time, check prices with McGeorge Toyota who sells at discounts on-line and are very quick to help you get the right part. They do charge for shipping but worth it if you buy a lot of OEM parts at once.
