  1. There's no such thing in Canada as a foreign income exclusion. Only the United States will tax you whether you leave or not. So when you leave Canada you just file your final return, and you pay no tax at all providing you spend less than 6 months in Canada.

  2. It's a very interesting strategy. I also have a Canadian passport along with a European passport. So if you have a business in Canada and your tax residences Canada what are you achieving? I guess you're getting away from the cold, and chili has the opposite weather so when it's winter in Canada it's summer in Chile. I get that. Canada has really gone downhill that's for sure.
