@5thribroarn304 You need to step away from Russian Fox News for a while. Trump committed many crimes. I will not go into them because you already know them so I will prove to you trump accomplished nothing while president. My most serious concern about trump being president was the fact that 200 psychiatrists diagnosed Trump with malignant narcissism and with that psychiatric impairment he should never have been allowed to hold such a high office. If you recall he didn’t even have the popular vote running against Hillary, she won the popular vote by 3 million votes. Why a person should not hold a high office with malignant narcissism is the mental affliction prevents the person from accomplishing anything because they are too focused in their own world. I would like to explain this further. Typical of a malignant narcissist, Trump makes the laughable claim that he accomplished more than any other president when the truth is it is just the opposite he accomplished less than any other president. Here is the proof: There are a number of very important things every president should address with the goal of making progress in those areas. I will number the important areas:
1. Lets start with the high cost of healthcare that is such a major problem because one fifth of this nation cannot afford to be treated for their physical afflictions. Donald Trump for 4 years claimed he had a healthcare plan better than Obama’s and never released it during the 4 years he was in office. On three different occasions he was asked when he would release this great healthcare plan and he would keep responding with the same answer, “in two weeks.” The fact is trump accomplished nothing in the area of making healthcare affordable.
2. Infrastructure: All presidents provide an infrastructure plan that is a vision for this country to take in the future. Donald Trump was unable to put together an infrastructure plan because it called for proposing something outside his own mind. 3. Deficit reduction: Most people are concerned about the high national debt and the 260 billion we waste just servicing the interest yearly. Obama and Biden after repairing the last fiscal disaster of the Bush administration embarked on deficit reduction every year after that. Obama left Trump a 600 billion deficit and rather than continue to bring it down Trump doubled the deficit with a profligate one trillion deficit in his first budget. Knowing how reckless this spending was he held a news conference and promised to never sign another budget with so much over spending. Well the public seemed to forget Trumps promise because he decided to run the country like his failed casinos by continuing to run up trillion dollar deficits when it wasn’t needed and the over spending matriculated into inflation a few years later when Biden was in office. Guess who got the blame for Trumps profligate spending and ensuing inflation, yes you guessed it, Biden. Trump was too ignorant of Keynesian economics, he just loved to borrow trillions to throw into the economy to say his economy is the greatest even though it was borrowed money that he never once suggested how he would pay it back.
3. Comprehensive immigration reform: Here is an area that Trump failed the most, he was not able to reach first base on this perennial problem. All we got from Trump and his administration was extreme nationalism and demagoguery denigrating all that wanted to come to this nation. There was no effort whatsoever to come up with a comprehensive plan for our country to deal with the influx of legal and illegal immigrants. All Trump and his administration did was make the situation worse. There were caravans coming to our borders in the tens of thousands during Trumps time in office and as soon as Biden and Harris took over Harris visited all of the Central American countries the people were fleeing from to come here for safety, she read them the riot act to protect their populace or risk the loss of funds from the United States. The caravans stopped, with Harris getting no credit from republicans. Now that Trump is out of office and failed to provide any road map for dealing with this explosive issue we still have an unresolved immigration problem that was put on the back burner while dealing with covid and other issues caused by trump.
4. Covid containment: Trumps narcissism could not have been more evident in his failed handling of the covid response. It was in December of 2019 when Trump was advised of the seriousness of the covid virus that he should have taken the strongest action but did nothing but shrug it off as a democratic hoax. Trump allowed 400,000 people to enter our nation from infected areas of China to infect every city in our country and rather than contain the disease he allowed it to grow into a pandemic. The two agencies that could have done the most to contain the virus, the CDC and WHO, were denigrated by Trump and not allowed to do what they needed to do to protect this nation. Trump lived in his narcissistic fantasy world that he knew more than the doctors and it resulted in over a million dying from the virus and many still have medical problems from contracting the disease. I remember when Obama and Biden were in charge and the Ebola Virus emerged. They acted immediately with the CDC and the WHO to quarantine everyone arriving from infected regions. Fox News kept saying it would devastate this nation because Obama was president but only two people died and the Ebola was contained. Trumps narcissism was evident that he could not recognize others as knowing more than him about the virus. It was despicable that the two agencies knowing the most about the virus were interfered with by a narcissistic president.
5. SALT talks with nuclear nations. This is one of the most important areas that we expect a president to be involved in yet Trump made no efforts in 4 years to engage in START talks. It was obvious to me that Trump was so compromised by Putin that he would not even suggest SALT talks with Russia and Trumps reckless language about China along with Russian Fox News encouraging a war between China and the USA for Russia’s benefit, there would be no SALT talks with China. If you notice Trumps narcissism interfered with his ability to negotiate on anything so there was no progress in 4 years to get Iran or North Korea to limit their nuclear ambitions. So in effect, Trump never got out of the batters box on the subject of SALT talks, in fact, he never got to the plate. 6. Climate change: The republicans position that climate change is a hoax was a gift to a malignant narcissist. Trump had no clue about the happenings outside his own internal world to address climate change intellectually, he was able to fall back on the republican line that it was a democratic hoax and leave it at that. No productive discussion on the issue in 4 years.
Now I ask, how can Trump claim to have accomplished more than any president when the six most important issues a president is expected to engage in and make progress, he failed and even made some of the problems worse. When I ran for congress in 2018 one of the most prescient things I said was “Trump is always saying the opposite of the truth” and when Trump says he accomplished more than any president ever he proves my point.
