They have the means to do so and have been doing so slowly for generations. Using this as an opportunity to push even harder than they have been. Israel has nuclear weapons (Illegally), chemical weapons (illegally), biological weapons(illegally), cluster munitions. Modern fighter jets including F-35s, helicopters, tanks, Modern warships, Modern air defense systems APCs, heavy artillery, hundreds of thousands of professionally trained troops. Unlimited military support from the strongest military in history. Unlimited financial support and Unlimited protection for accountability for their crimes by the international world body. Hamas and the Palestinians have NONE of that. They are outgunned LITERALLY thousands of times over. Are you surprised they have to use such tactics in a fight in what they see as the larger good. If israelis were at such a Literally hopeless disadvantage how would they behave. They already have EVERY advantage and they kill Way More civilians Intently then Hamas could ever dream.
