What one needs to understand about the Islamic Middle-East is that there are two religious factions, the mystics and the orthodox. The mystics (Sufi/Sunni) generally always side with the socialists. Then, there are two political factions in all Muslim countries, where there is a socialist-left such as that of the old Baath Party in Iraq under Saddam, the Red Prince and Al-Waleed in Saudi Arabia, Assad in Syria (Baath Party), and the politics of Iran under the Mullahs. The leftwing is behind what we see today, and this is why they ally themselves with Russia and China.
Ask yourself which ex-President of the US put Saddam Hussein in power (1979) before he became president? Saddam officially ruled over Iraq several years before 1979, starting in 1976. Then, ask yourself, who put the Assad family in power (1971) via a coup? Where were Bush and Cheney during those years?
"Saddam formally rose to power in 1979, although he had already been the de facto head of Iraq for several years. "
"In 1976, Saddam rose to the position of general in the Iraqi armed forces and rapidly became the strongman of the government. As the ailing, elderly al-Bakr became unable to execute his duties, Saddam took on an increasingly prominent role as the face of the government both internally and externally. He soon became the architect of Iraq's foreign policy and represented the nation in all diplomatic situations. He was the de facto leader of Iraq some years before he formally came to power in 1979."
"In 1971, President Richard Nixon appointed [George H W] Bush as Ambassador to the United Nations, and he became Chairman of the Republican National Committee in 1973. The following year, President Gerald Ford appointed him Chief of the Liaison Office in China and later made him the director of Central Intelligence [1976-77]."
Cheney "began his political career as an intern for Congressman William A. Steiger, eventually working his way into the White House during the Nixon and Ford administrations, where he later served as the White House chief of staff, from 1975 to 1977. In 1978, Cheney was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives representing Wyoming's at-large congressional district from 1979 to 1989; he was reelected five times, briefly serving as House minority whip in 1989. Cheney was selected to be the secretary of defense during the presidency of George H. W. Bush, holding the position for the majority of Bush's term from 1989 to 1993.[6] During his time in the Department of Defense, Cheney oversaw the 1991 Operation Desert Storm, among other actions. Out of office during the Clinton administration, Cheney was the Chairman and CEO of Halliburton Company from 1995 to 2000."
"I was blind but now I see." Wake up, folks!
