I foresaw this happening. When you purchase a new firearm, and register it, you must declare that you are not taking illegal drugs, in order to buy it. You can be prescribed legal drugs, such as Morphine, and be legal, but smoke pot, no, you can't own one, as it is still a schedule one substance. When physicians started prescribing pot, it was registered on a database with the state, which is available to the DEA and the BATFE.
Hawaii did give them the chance of registering them under another's name, which was surprising. Sorry, pot smokers, but you'll have to change the mind of the FDA and the DEA about pot. Heck, ask them to list it as a schedule two or three, and then you can own a firearm legally, as long as it is prescribed by a physician.
