@smoochie3331 That's actually more accurate for the British governors. Hong Kong's post-handover leaders are actually elected by a local council, which overwhelmingly represents business and professional interests.

@jacsc627 They were raided because they are not a profitable news media and are suspected of being funded by foreign governments to spread fake and/or exaggerated news. I'm only speaking hypothetically--it's on the prosecution to produce that evidence in court.

@jacsc627 "printing news not favorable to the government" Almost every news outlet in HK does this. There is a gaping chasm between "criticism" and literally goading and organising unrest. Apple Daily made the same mistake. The very channel that we're watching, SCMP, has plenty of criticism for the government. The only papers that don't blatantly criticise the HK gov't are probably the mainland Chinese state media, and even those have done extensive reporting on the HKSAR's failure to address Hong Kong's housing crisis. Imagine if a paper in the US ran a headline one year ago: "Jan 6 - TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK." You can bet that the FBI is gonna raid them.

You say that like it means anything. BTW, being a "CCP bot" doesn't pay the bills these days.

I think someone from the prosecution should be the one to speak for the reasoning and evidence behind the charges. Having the Chief Executive defend these actions is overcompensating, and this one already has too much political baggage.
