Problem starts with auto tune and lip syncing to con the fans. During the late nineties the big four labels brought up the independent labels. Independent labels find the new acts and sounds, the big labels have always been late onto a movement, look at punk, they missed that boat same with indie they pushed out Brit pop. Of course the big four are only interested in money, they use psychologists, writer pools that only get paid when they get a hit. Historically bands didn't make it till the 3 or 4 album but labels aren't interested they want money now. So that's why the song writing is rubbish, it's the same subjects, love, heartbreak and love again. clothes get removed, some music videos are just soft porn. Commercial radio is rubbish of repeating the same old songs. It's sad really, generations of the past are defined by their music and today millennials are defined by x factor rubbish.
