Franklin: How does one defend against such power? Enterprise: A wise master does not reveal all his secrets at once. In due time, my apprentice. (For context. Enterprise and Franklin were both assigned to TG 38.4 in late 1944 and TG 58.2 during March 1945. Both times Franklin was damage Enterprise had to fill in as TG flagship.)

@jeffreyskoritowski4114 Enterprise: You seem to be doing fine by yourself.

@Big_E_Soul_Fragment Enterprise (nearby): Anyone getting a sense of Deja Vu?

Dick Best and James Murray: Almost counts in Horseshoes and Hand Grenades.

@stuartaaron613 That and having Saratoga and Enterprise still running around certainly helps.

Didn't Drach say some troll threatened him over the last video?

She got “Dick Bested.”

Aside from doing away with the treaty limits they are descendants of the Yorktowns and we all know how much punishment they can take.

The hell are you on about? The D4Y could carry 1000lbs

@zackakai5173 Enterprise: Did you ever hear the Tragedy of Yorktown the wise?

Still a couple of months before her forward elevator blew out. But she was hit by a dud bomb the same day and two days later she was hit by friendly fire.

I think it was the “700 club.”

Yes there is. It was developed in the 1930s by the RAF.

@timdake the takeoff fiasco involved the Son of a Bitch 2nd Class Helldiver. Weirdly the only one who can get a positive contribution from him was Admiral Halsey. Also in a bit of foreshadowing, towards the end of the Battle of Midway. Browning wanted Enterprise and Hornet to launch a long range strike with the SBDs using 1000lbs bombs. McClusky and Scouting 6 CO Earl Gallaher (Best was in the hospital and Lindsay was dead) were told of this and objected to the plan. They believed that the plan was stupid as the range of the strike plus the bomb load would result in the SBDs not having enough fuel to return back to the carriers. They bought it up with Enterprise’s Captain George Murray and they got into a massive argument with Browning. That ended when Spruance agreed to “do what you pilots want.” Browning spent the rest of the battle sulking in his cabin.

Fun fact. He was a former member of Enterprise’s VF-10 “Grim Reapers.”

Also, she survived being "Dick Bested."

Or launch him from one of the ship’s catapults.

@craigpalmer9196 i remember hearing that Enterprise was close to Franklin when the attack happened and that some of her crew were eye witnesses.
