So what was the reason that the British chose to buy guns from Argentina? At the time of the initial attempt to order these guns, the U.S. was not participating in WW2. And I know the British did receive some 1911's from us, so why didn't they just order more? Was it a matter of cost? Surely it would have been worth it, rather than waiting two years to get them.
