  1. Because those groups that you mentioned work for the same people that regulate the content on major media. This is the public face, they obviously won't talk about the private ones.

  2. People prevented others from having a vested interest. There are too many to help. I can't possibly help everyone, nobody can. I help those I have a vested interest in, so do you and the vast majority of people in general. Prevent personal vested interest, and you take away the impetus to help. Human exploitation is central to charity.
