@Homer177 What's funny is that there are only about three libertarians in Congress, so they're not going to privatize the country as you say. The three are Jeff Flake, Rand Paul and Ron Paul just announced he's retiring in 2012. So we're talking a super minority. Congress and the Presidency has been ran, by in large, big government Keynesians who believe in either a warfare state or welfare state or sometimes both, Those are the facts.

@YY4Me133 Yes, end corporate welfare. End the wars. Sell our military bases. End the war on drugs and save billions in prison time and court room time. And no tax breaks for the ultra wealthy, while I have to pay nearly 40% in Federal, State and Local taxes. Close the loopholes. All I am saying is that I should have the freedom to opt out of any program. If people want to stay in it then let's keep it. I just want out so I can afford health insurance. Just give me freedom. That's it.

@YY4Me133 Haven't we tried "trickle up" for the past 100 years? Look at the creation of HUD, rental assistance, Headstart, WIC, Energy programs, S-CHIP, social security, pell grants, student loans, Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac, unemployment insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, all for the poor. What program is going to be the be all, end all welfare program or solution? Real trickle up is to limit regulations on small businesses, allow people to keep more of their income and opt out of SSI.
