  2. Russians have a very specific mentality... In case if they are confident that the Kremlin is right, they would support all its actions, regardless of the amount of suffering and deprivation. But if the population develops any doubts that the "operation" in Ukraine has been a strategic mistake and failure, they immediately lose all trust to the authorities, and the situation can turn ugly very quickly. For example an "internal" coup in Kremlin is possible, as well as regional separatism.
