  1. So very sorry to hear of the devastation & losses you guys have suffered. And no matter how people feel politically, wishing evil on people because of their Senator is just sick & I’m sorry you’ve had to see that. My heart goes out to you & your community & I hope that there’s some good news to be found in there to help relieve the overwhelming sense of tragedy. Finding deceased humans & animals from your neighbourhood must be awful & you & others who are continuing to search are doing an amazing job. Some advice from a Paramedic of 21yrs - Please remember when it all seems too much yet not enough - you can only do what you can do. Even if it’s just bringing closure to someone about their loved ones, or just giving someone a much needed hug or a helping hand. That will actually be a big help to them, even if it doesn’t seem like it. Hang in there & don’t let the trauma you’re witnessing build up inside you. Talk, cry, yell, punch a pillow or some time down the track when you’re back on your feet, pour all the pain into a hobby like woodwork or music or art or whatever it is you do. Don’t let painful thoughts do laps around your head - let them out so they don’t torture you. Take care of you & your loved ones, those with feet, fur, feathers, fins or however they come 🤗

  2. It sure does look like a river bed now, but hindsight is 20/20. The real question is whether someone knew the risks of this & zoned/sold the land anyway. But those are questions for later once people have accounted for their families, pets & livestock & have a home to stay in.

  4. So frightening for these people. I can’t believe how many have died & are missing still. And unfortunately, these record-breaking weather induced disasters are just increasing in number & severity every year. When are we going to do something to undo some of the damage humans have done over the last 150 yrs? We can’t wait a decade. We have to act now.
