It's a disgrace because they can, and will, violate a person's LEGAL rights in order to "protect" someone's feelings. Are "feelings" really a major consideration in UK jurisprudence?

It seems that whenever a Brit has an encounter with a foreigner, the police side with the foreigner. Similarly, it seems that when a liberal/progressive Brit has an encounter with a more conservative Brit, the police side with the liberal/progressive. Here's a novel approach to the problem: How about if the police just impartially enforce the law without trying to take sides or acting as moral arbiters? Also, why not stick to law enforcement and stop all of the social-engineering mandate of "protecting feelings" while wearing a police uniform? Do police in the UK have to take an oath to protect the feelings of certain groups.... or do they just do it on their own? Keeping the peace CAN be done without taking sides.
