  1. Pop-scientists have been predicting our demise since the late 1960's, and yet, here we are. Weren't we supposed to freeze to death, cook to death, starve to death, run out of space, blow ourselves up, become encased in pyroclastic ash, drown from tidal waves, die from super germs, and be struck by asteroids? As I recall, California was supposed to break off and fall into the sea, wasn't it?

  3. Doomsday predictions have all failed so far, haven't they? We were supposed to all be dead back in the '70s as I recall. The only thing that really happened was that some authors got filthy rich. If the poster child for totalitarians wants to REALLY stop the major polluters, why isn't she in China or India shaking her finger at them? Per capita, the US is MUCH cleaner than many other nations.
