Humbly requesting George Carlin. A comedian and satirist who oftentimes hit the nail more than just on the head; and whose bits were infinitely more than just satire. The guy was a comedian, satirist, begrudged philosopher, and even the narrative voice of Thomas the Train.

@dovbarleib3256 Mel Brooks was in movies, more so than standup I believe. Plus, I never really found him that funny or appealing. Don Rickles wasn’t anything special to me either. Carlin was on a different plane of existence than Rickles or Brooks. Carlin fought the Man, and even though he lost, he still stood his ground and made the FCC and SCOTUS regret their decisions every day. Carlin could pick apart an audience like nobody else, and create masterful social critiques that are still referred to today. Rickles and Brooks get brought up from movies and that’s about it.
