Humbly requesting George Carlin. A comedian and satirist who oftentimes hit the nail more than just on the head; and whose bits were infinitely more than just satire. The guy was a comedian, satirist, begrudged philosopher, and even the narrative voice of Thomas the Train.

@NothingSubversive it’s a tragedy. A few other controversial, yet important figures that haven’t been covered: Larry Flynt, Hugh Hefner, Bill Hicks, and Redd Foxx.

@rosslockhart8919 Carlin is a...thorny topic lol. Imagine asking Simon to cover say... Hugh Hefner. Sure, it would be an interesting and informative video; but you’d have the standard nancies complaining about it. Not to mention, Simon’s penchant for dancing around trying NOT to offend anyone wouldn’t really lend itself well to the video. Carlin was also a complex individual, he skewered EVERYBODY, he was like an old school Dave Chappell. To fully understand Carlin, would take a long/multi-part Biographic (which I would definitely support). I’m hoping and praying Simon will do a vid on Carlin, I think he was one of the biggest free speech advocates (behind Flynt) and was a damn fine comedian and social philosopher.

@DUTCHESSMD no shame in getting things confused lol. Most people in the world are more familiar with Ringo anyway so it follows that most people would associate him with Thomas. It is factual though that Carlin narrated the 3rd and 4th seasons of Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends. He also did so on recordings of the 1st and 2nd seasons after Ringo left.

@hotrodG2 “Tank Engine”/“Train” I’ve heard it both ways, and as a kid, it was always “Train”. Either way, I think you got my point.
