There has been a continuing rise in nationalism, authoritarianism, and bigotry around the world, partly promoted by Putin, and partly enabled by Donald Trump. It is disturbing and it will be very dangerous if it continues.

Maha Tiki Cat Yes, a few fanatics on both side get overzealous and hypocritical about free speech, but it is not a liberal or conservative issue. Liberals invented the 1st amendment, and both sides support it when they are not letting their partisan hatreds short-circuit their brain.

@bubbles3161 Fareed Zakaria is not particularly "liberal." He has a wide spectrum of views which average a little right of center. He is very much a classical liberal, but not so much a political liberal.

@ownerspride8305 Fareed immigrated from India and spends a great deal of time there. The fact that you disagree with him on the interpretation of events odes not prove which of you is more correct.
