As far as I know they only chopped people who were brought by Gamini from welikada, to divide north and east. They were settled in Manal aru, they were given arms, they were called home guards. They patrolled with the army killing 1000s of tamils in Trinco and Manal aru. When LTTE attack them they become innocent civilians killed by the LTTE. No one got punished for black july, sathrukondan, kumudini boat, vankalai family massacre in the most horrible way and there are 1000s of other incidents.
