Ian, if my memory serves me well----and to be honest it's not water tight----but Alexander Dugan was the one who at the last minute decided to switch cars with his daughter and this has been a troubling after-thought on the potential political intrigue this is going to generate, but did he know in advance that his car was rigged to explode and then consciously make the decision i.e., to let destiny take its last ride with his daughter? It seems improbable, but Russian psychology is a riddle in anybody's book from this side of their border. You did rule out everyone else but the Ukrainians for the gas pipeline destruction. Why the need-to-know is so pressing at this moment is puzzling, because it might be that the western press ends up shooting itself in the foot by digging into such an ill-timed and potentially damaging propaganda tool for the Russians to use to intensify and escalate the war in the Ukraine.
