It is obvious that all or most of the South American countries could tilt the war in Ukraine's favor in an instant by their governments giving up their spare ammunition supplies which are only collecting dust in armories and arms depots across their continent. Ian, I know I speak for many, many people when I say you have been a professor to the entire world with your excellent commentaries composed of sound-bites which stay in the mind and linger and which constantly bring us up-to-speed on global events. You have broken down the key components of the political ‘baseball game’ of the Ukraine war that we are witnessing in interminable 'extra innings' as armchair infantry soldiers. You have made us more than aware that we are a not shaken but stirred west whom has finally awakened to an existential threat that until now we have chosen to neglect at our own peril. What is paramount is for all of us to understand that autocratic regimes---which are analogous to communism ----really mean constant expansion. They are encroaching on us silently and stealthily by gaining ground meter by meter and their target are democratic countries.
