  1. Ian, you do a great service with your vocasts. It feels like being back in university at times, you know what I mean, when the professor would go off-subject and interject a comment or two on current events. What I am writing about today is that no one is saying anything about the 'mobbing' or 'mass-harassment' the Taiwanese people must be undergoing and feeling practically every single day of the year. What is mobbing? I call it mass-harassment and it is not easy to deal with if anyone has experienced it. It's murder now-a-days because people are tuned into their portable phones. What it is all about is that someone, for some reason or another is deemed to be an outlier for one reason or another. One person forms a group and then they all get together to synchronize their attacks. They zero-in on somebody mercilessly and they are there to show up at designated spots i.e., the target-person's every move is monitored. It wears you down psychologically. Imagine having jets scream by overhead on a daily basis---sure you get used to getting buzz-bombed, but a lot of people are not very solid psychologically, so I imagine Taiwanese people live in a sort of constant stress; Taiwan has become a nervous cage rather than an island paradise.
