  1. Dear Mr Stone, There are no words to describe the artist in you, which I think is what you are : an artist. The sword of Damocles hangs over every artist’s head because their (your) passion has lead them to create works of splendor, like your wonderful films, but the eyes of a realist are not bestowed on those who bring to life stories or paint pictures or cast bronze statues. What you are not seeing is that your very words of saying that you cannot pierce the armor of the American media should be what is pushing you forward; not holding you back, for until you find the key to getting your work seen on your country’s mainstream media, you will never be satisfied. The answer is within you: leave your ego at the cutting room door, and go back over the 12 hours of film and distill it down to what is presentable and ultimately accepted on US television and movie theaters. Don’t stop until you accomplish it. Please do this. You will see that when you succeed, the doors you have been trying to open will open up for you to do even greater work. Don't you see this is your greatest challenge. Let go of these phrases, it’s hard to . . . it’s impossible . . . you can’t get . . . you can’t do . . .
