  1. Dear Mr Faigman and Mr Smercornish, Of all of the most heartbreaking sights to see it is the sight of tents on the side-walks of San Francisco. I live in a European city and of course there are bag ladies and shopping cart people walking around and sleeping rough too, but nothing, nothing compared to what we see in San Francisco. Open-air drug dealing should be the alarm bell that gets those people off the streets and out of the city parks. Why on Earth would the mayor of San Francisco tolerate such a depraved image for her city? The whole world is watching this on TV! It is a national shame and a global problem. That governments allow people to park themselves on public by-ways and side-walks and public parks and just sit around all day making the place look like a disaster zone makes no sense as far as I can see. It’s got to be such a weight on the shoulders of San Franciscan’s to wake up in the morning and go to work and have to step over people and syringes and refuse and worse. What must the children think? Why can’t a law be made to at least have them stay out of the city limits? Why not cordon off a part of the outer-city limits and let the homeless stay there. It’s wrong to let people come in and destroy the way of life of a proud community like that. Isn't the solution some form of nationalized public housing? Be well.
