  1. Name calling in times of war will get us nowhere. President Putin is a national hero in his own country and when our leaders berate him on the world stage, it only makes Putin's followers close their ears to anything coming from the west. Sanctions are respectable diplomatic tools that leaders can use on the international media because people 7 to 77 years old will not be offended. Simon Jenkins from The Guardian recently wrote "History offers scant evidence that decisions in the heat of war are governed by economics." We have to realize that India, China, Brazil, Syria and many more countries are discreetly funneling aid to the Russian Federation. Jenkins goes on to say "If the west wants to help Ukraine, it should do so by proxy, by sending weapons. This is what Ukraine's numerous allies are discreetly doing, but in front of the cameras they've got to play politics as usual.
