What is most apparent as far as being able to say false things on national TV and to those of us who are in the international audience is that humans tend to believe the news presenters on face value. Look at how convincing Mr Carlson is every time he tells a whopper. It's impossible to see he is lying. This tells me that some kind of fact-checking independent global television company should be funded and run by the UN. The news team would break down the stories that made the news around the world and at the end of every day have a neutral spokesperson weighing in on every outlandish sound bite on the daily news. It would give viewers the chance to tune it to the UN channel and hear an unbiased report on what has been said throughout the globe. For example, someone could tune in and hear someone say: Carlson from FOX NEWS said that Trump was cheated out of a second term and this has no basis in fact. Simple as that.
