  1. The Taliban know very well that the worst thing that can happen to them is if America pulls out. Why do I say that? Because history has shown over and over again that the Afghanistan people will tolerate a certain level of restraints for a while, but should the Taliban turn the vise and squeeze the local people too tightly, they will not only lose their grip on the society and the poor Afghanistan people, they will lose their heads. It's time to let the Afghanistan people fight their own battles, and when they fight a battle, they always win.
