The idea that people of color have been stricken more severely than people of clear skin in your country weighs heavily according to some health officials on the fact that African Americans on the whole have 82% less vitamin D in their systems than people of clear skin and equally, latinos have approximately 70% less vitamin D in their systems than the white skinned population. To counterpoint this, some researchers postulate that African people in Africa have a lower death rate because of the fact that a great majority have parasitic worms or have had parasitic worm infections. The parasitic worms lower the efficacity of the immune system by turning off essential parts of the immune system so that the parasite can live in the host person. With the immune system less able to fend off the Coronvirus infection, the immune system does not over-compensate for Ariicans, which is the reason why people often die of the Coronavirus infection. I am repeating what I have learned in my research, and I am not a health professional, but lower vitamin D levels seem to be an indicator of who gets infected more.
