  1. You think you have seen it all, but the Ukrainian war is starting to look like there is a cancer growing exponentially in the human community. What on Earth was going on in Vladmir Putin's mind to attack and occupy and destroy a country that is one of the major bread baskets of the planet, a life-line to staving off hunger, to millions and millions of people? This war is going to change all of us, because there is no way we are ever going to forget watching a superpower pound a sovereign country with daily missile and shelling and attacks not to mention the total destruction of its infra-structure. One construction company executive told me that in his opinion it's going to take at least 30 years just to rebuild the city of Mariupol! Can anyone imagine the cost of rebuilding Ukraine after the Russians have left? I am running out of ways to express my feelings in what I see going on 2,000 kilometers from Kiev where we live.
