Across the world from you and 2,000 kilometers from the front lines in Ukraine, every day we see the fighting and the dying. For Russia to lose 800 soldiers in a single day should be a wake-up call that goes all the way to the top. Instead, we see President Putin and his ill-trained commanders in charge of the armed forces fiddling their thumbs while a generation of hapless conscripts disappears from the earth forever. The Ukrainians have shown the whole world that nothing is stronger than self-preservation and fighting a war that is an existential threat to one's very culture and civilization.
