Jake, I have written comments on your videocasts before, but it must be so hard for you to have to do this report and it shows how urgent it is to find a way through this debacle that has consumed Israel and its neighbors. The way through this quagmire is to see what will make these sorts of events go away. I am an artist and not a geopolitical strategist, but the answer is clear to me: all efforts must be made to secure a Palestinian 'island of safetey', a parcel of land that is unquestionably Palestinian so that these people can begin to build a democratic nation and live in dignity and harmony. Israel will right its wrongs when Israelis don't feel the heat of hatred and anger from their neighbors. My plan for peace in the region is to have Gaza become a Galapagos of the middle east. Yes; that's right, a wildlife refuge for animals and plants and aquatic life that will act as a buffer zone and change the tone from talk of war to talk of peace. A nature reserve would work to quell warring parties and allow a feeling of security back in the region. This is doable and our children's children will thank us for giving them the template into how to achieve peace with other warring factions across the world.
